Senior Associate Scientist, Drug Safety Evaluation Cell Therapy

The Drug Safety Evaluation Cell Therapy team in Seattle is seeking a passionate, creative, and driven research scientist to help shape the future of cell therapy safety. What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with talented colleagues to evaluate new CAR and TCR T-cell products and tackle toxicology challenges in cutting-edge therapeutic strategies, including gene editing and cell engineering.
  • Design and execute sophisticated experiments to predict on- and off-target risks, developing innovative cell and tissue-based in vitro models and molecular assays.
  • Build deep expertise in engineered T-cell therapies, focusing on preclinical safety evaluation and contributing to the advancement of transformative medicines.
  • Communicate your findings clearly and effectively to project teams and collaborators, preparing impactful presentations and technical reports.
  • Deliver on short-term project goals while driving innovation that will shape the future of safety evaluation for CAR and TCR T-cell modalities.

Position Details:

  • The role is primarily laboratory-based within our Nonclinical R&D team in Seattle.

Qualifications & Experience

  • B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in immunology, bioengineering, biochemistry, molecular biology, toxicology, or related discipline, with at least 4 (B.S.), 2 (M.S.) years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Scientific expertise evidenced by publication record and/or presentations
  • Excellent laboratory-based skills in cell and molecular biology
  • Proficiency in general laboratory bench skills such as multi-color flow cytometry, cell imaging, ELISAs, Luminex, Mesoscale, and western blotting
  • Fluorescence and/or confocal microscopy, live cell imaging and analysis is desirable
  • Proficiency in molecular biology; experience with genome editing methodologies, gene expression analysis is preferred
  • Culture of primary and immortalized mammalian cells and cell line development
  • Analytical methods for functional characterization of T cells (activation, cytotoxicity, cytokine secretion, proliferation etc.)

Compensation Overview: Seattle - WA: $88,430 - $107,151

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience. Eligibility for specific benefits listed on our careers site may vary based on the job and location. On-site Protocol

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role: Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility.
