Senior Associate, Operational Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Risk And Governance Lead

Capital One is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Senior Associate to join the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Team within the Operational Risk Management (ORM) second line of defense. The TPRM team is a dedicated group of professionals whose mission is to provide value-add, independent stewardship of Capital One's third-party management practices, enabling Capital One to manage its Third Party Risk.

The Senior Associate, Risk and Governance Lead, will provide key support to the Third Party Risk Management Framework at Capital One. This includes facilitating day-to-day governance activities and supporting the team's "well-managed" risk management practices. You will be a vital part of the team, helping to ensure we are rigorous and creative in our approach to risk management.

Responsibilities

• Support governance activities for the TPRM team by helping to organize and facilitate team meetings, retrospectives, and monthly business reviews.
• Assist in managing communication channels for the TPRM team, such as helping to update Confluence pages and assisting with the TPRM newsletter.
• Help coordinate key forums like the TPRM Change Forum and Community calls, ensuring a collaborative and well-managed environment.
• Provide support for risk management activities, including creating and updating process documentation to ensure the team's practices are well-managed.
• Manage tasks and activities related to risk management initiatives, supporting the TPRM team's objectives.
• Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills within the team and with other partners.
• Stay current on the changing regulatory environment to help inform the team's governance practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or Audit within a financial institution.
• At least 1 year of experience supporting and interacting with internal business clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or process management experience.
• Experience in a third-party risk management role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Risk Associate

Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Risk Associate

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
