The mission of the Safety Surveillance & Collaboration (SS&C) team within CVS Healthspire Payor & Life Sciences Solutions, is to actively monitor the US public health in collaboration with Food and Drug Administration (FDA), academic institutions, and other health insurance companies. The SS&C team conducts descriptive research, medical chart review validations, and pragmatic research using the Real-World Data tools, including Common Data Models (CDMs).

The Senior Associate Epidemiologist / Senior Data Scientist role will support analytical, and research activities related to Real-World evidence generation. The role will support the acquisition and analysis of large and complex datasets to support research activities.

The role will contribute to the maintenance and refresh of the infrastructure required for running complex queries and generating insights to support business objectives. The role is expected to review results, identify quality issues, and perform root cause analysis as well as document findings and other Data Management Plan items. The role will use SAS, SQL, Python as the primary data management tools. The role is expected to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience with healthcare claims data analysis and/or electronic health records
• 8+ years of experience with SAS, SQL, Python
• Experience preparing data management plans and analytical specifications
• Advanced scientific comprehension skills
• Experience with the Real World Data research initiatives and evidence driven projects
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be self-directed
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Strong collaborative attitude with a desire to impact healthcare

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with healthcare claims data analysis and/or electronic health records
• Track record of contributions to the scientific research literature
• Experience with pharmaco-epidemiology and real-world evidence

Education

PhD in Epidemiology, Health Analytics, Health Informatics, or a related field preferred; Master's degree required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $222,480.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
