Job Description

As a Security Officer Education Access Desk in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availabilitygiving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Screener in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your role will include conducting routine patrols, being present to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service. You will be a key point of contact, communicating clearly and professionally with everyone you encounter. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Screen individuals entering the location to help to deter prohibited items or unauthorized access.
• Monitor entry points and check credentials of students, staff, and visitors as required.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Maintain detailed records of daily activities, incidents, and observations related to the screening process.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff to address questions and/or concerns regarding access at the location.
• Assist with the implementation of protocols for special events or heightened alert periods within the educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
