As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Specialist in Paramus, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents through your visible presence and proactive approach. You will interact with visitors and tenants, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment. Your role will involve conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and working as part of a dedicated team that values integrity, reliability, and innovation. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail and mall location, including both interior and perimeter areas, to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity and/or conditions within the location to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits and interacting with visitors as needed.
• Support Allied Universal operations by maintaining detailed and accurate records of daily activities and incidents.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
• Remain visible and approachable to provide assistance and information to guests and tenants within the retail and mall environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
