Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Campus Patrol in Lake Charles, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at an educational location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the property, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations as they arise. This armed post requires you to carry a firearm and maintain the appropriate guard card or license. You will interact with students, staff, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $20.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for unusual or suspicious behavior within the educational environment, reporting as necessary.
• Assist with access control and visitor management to help maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Support Allied Universal and school administration during drills, emergencies, and other security-related events.
• Document observations and incidents according to established protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
• Possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
