Job Description

As a Security Guard in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in supporting a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and staff. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for vehicle patrols as part of your duties. Day Time Mon 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM

Tue 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM

Wed 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM

Thur 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM

Fri 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents as outlined in site-specific protocols.
• Support access control procedures by monitoring entry and exit points as required by the location.
• Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or the public while representing Allied Universal.
• Assist with emergency response activities as directed by site management or Allied Universal supervisors.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Diploma is required.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
