SALES LEAD, PART TIME 25 HOURS WEEKLY — GEARY STREET THRIFT STORE — $18.00 HOURLY
Overview

The employee provides customers with the best selection, exceptional service and a well-organized store to support spiritual, social, and rehabilitation programs for those in need. The position is accountable for meeting store sales and income budgets while managing expenses to maximize profitability, and for fostering a positive environment for Beneficiaries (ARC rehabilitation program participants) through collaboration with program staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management and rotation, ARC merchandising standards (CNO Standards) and donations.
- Assumes responsibility for day-to-day store operations (including personnel and cash handling) in the absence of the Store and/or Assistant Manager. Discuss concerns with District Sales Manager.
- Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals set by Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
- In the absence ofStore Manager and Assistant Manager, schedules store employees for appropriate coverage in-store and at the donation center; coordinates daily morning and shift-change meetings; provides coaching, training, and development to store employees; ensures processing of paperwork per Review Standards related to Time and Attendance compliance.
- Ensures high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service to meet needs while maintaining positive community relations; develops strategies to improve service and the customer experience.
- Supports Back Room Processing (BRP) to ensure back room processors/warehouse staff meet daily processing goals.
- Supervises, supports, and conducts reporting of program Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place at the store.
- In the absence of Store Manager and Assistant Manager, protects store currency, inventory, and property, including safe funds, bank deposits, products for sale, store equipment, and building security.
- Ensures building is secured during non-operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
- Maintains safety measures consistent with ARC policy and regulations; reports safety issues and incidents; assists with mandatory weekly store meetings.
- May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Completes all tasks assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
Qualifications
Education
- GED
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of retail lead/lead role or lead customer service experience (supervisory experience preferred).
Required
2 years of related experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assumes responsibility for day-to-day operations (including personnel and cash handling) in the absence of the Store/Assistant Manager; discusses concerns with District Sales Manager.
- Advises on monitoring and analyzing KPIs to drive sales and profitability as per budget and goals set by leadership.
- Schedules staff to ensure coverage and coordinates meetings; coaches and trains employees; ensures Time and Attendance compliance.
- Maintains high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and develops strategies to improve service.
- Supports BRP to meet daily processing goals.
- Supervises Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are in place at the store.
- Protects store currency, inventory and property; manages deposits and security protocols.
- Ensures building security during non-operating hours and adherence to alarm protocols.
- Maintains safety measures and reports incidents; assists with weekly store meetings.
- May be transferred or relocated based on business needs.
- Completes all tasks assigned by leadership.
