Sales Director

Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr. Additional compensation types include an Annual Bonus and Commission. The role is based at the Hilton Garden Inn Baltimore-White Marsh with travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue.
• Develop, recommend, implement and manage the division\'s annual budget and the advertising, public relations, marketing and sales plans for the hotel to maximize rate, occupancy and food & beverage opportunities, ensuring revenue and profit goals are met or exceeded.
• Proactively conduct outside sales calls, sales tours and client entertainment.
• Understand contract content and negotiate terms therein.
• Develop and maintain market awareness to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
• Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends.
• Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality\'s regulations, standards and sales metrics.
• Achieve individual and team goals within approved budgets.
• Train hotel staff to recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities to increase occupancy and revenue.
• Develop working knowledge of hotel operations (Sales, F&B, Front Office, Reservations).
• Maintain visibility in the local community and industry organizations.
• Attend and/or conduct regular meetings and provide training as required; collaborate with internal departments and partners.
• Travel weekly as required.
• Act on behalf of the General Manager in his/her absence and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to negotiate and influence.
• Proficiency in professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
• Strong analytical skills and strategic vision for sales deployment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; strong organization and presentation skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups and resolve problems to build a productive sales team.
• Advanced knowledge of sales/marketing/hospitality principles and practices.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage financial information and data.
