Job Details

Elko Sanitation, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscience Laborer / Driver Helper to join our team in Elko, NV.

Schedule: 4 days/wk - Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays off!

Start time: 4:30am, finishing when the route is complete. (10-11 hours per day)

**Must have a clean driving record, pass criminal background check, & 5 panel drug screening to be eligible for employment.**

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lift customer cans to service on the back of the truck
Ability to read route Tablet/sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform Daily Pre-trip and Post-Trip DOT inspections on vehicles. Such as checking fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Assist multiple lines of business as needed such as container delivery, commercial, and residential service routes, bulk item pickup, and other areas as needed.
Operate non-cdl vehicles on designated routes
Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 100 pounds.
Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route
Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with Clean Driving Record (MVR)
Must pass Criminal background check
Must pass Drug screen
Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws
Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.
