Shift Details:

Full-time, choice of day or night shifts (rotating weekends required)
Trauma Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down Unit
Patient Population: Higher-acuity trauma and post-surgical patients requiring close monitoring but not ICU-level care
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:4
On Call: None

Your Role:

Deliver expert nursing care to step-down/PCU trauma patients
Monitor and respond to critical changes in patient conditions
Collaborate with ICU, ED, and surgical teams to ensure smooth transitions and coordinated care
Educate patients and families about procedures, medications, recovery expectations, and discharge plans
Maintain up-to-date documentation in the EMR system
Ensure clinical excellence while fostering a safe, respectful, and patient-centered environment

Job Requirements

Current Florida RN license or active compact license with FL activation within 60 days of hire
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA required within 30 days of start
1+ year of recent acute care RN experience required
Step-down, PCU, trauma, or critical care experience strongly preferred
Candidates with LTACH, home health, or rehab backgrounds will be considered
