Unit Summary

The Labor & Delivery unit is a 20-bed unit includes 3 triage rooms, 7 LDRs, 2 ORs, 3 PACU bays and 5 observation beds; high risk obstetrical unit with access to Level III+ NICU.

Job Summary

As a member of the patient care team, the Team Leader demonstrates proficiency in clinically sound evidence-based practice. He/she is recognized as a resource, preceptor, and role model. The Team Leader oversees the daily surgical/procedural schedule to assess instrumentation needs in addition to equipment, supply inventory, and daily staffing coverage. Serves as a technical resource for assigned staff; providing guidance and answers questions regarding procedures and compliance with policy and procedure. He/she exhibits a mastery of nursing functions needed to advise, mentor and evaluate other patient care team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required from CCNE accredited schools
• At least 2-4 years of L&D experience including supervisory is required
• Maryland Registered Nurse License or eligibility to obtain Maryland license required
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required
• American Heart Association ACLS Certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
• Pediatrics Advanced Life Support preferred
