As an RN Pre-Operative Care Specialist, you will be a crucial member of our team, dedicated to providing personalized patient care in the peri-operative setting. Your communication, conduct, and performance will directly contribute to our goal of becoming a High Performance Organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care in the peri-operative setting (pre op, phase 1, phase 2).
- Provide safe, effective care for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a clean and efficient workspace.
- Perform essential tests and procedures such as ECGs, lab draws, and insertion of PIVs as needed.
- Oversee patient admission, recovery, and discharge processes.
- Accurately assess patient status and ensure precise patient identification.
- Ensure that patient consents are complete and accurate.
- Evaluate pre-operative vital signs against surgery requirements.
- Conduct initial assessments upon patient arrival in the PACU.
- Manage patient airways, including airway adjunct management.
- Document plans and assessments in the EHR (EPIC).
- Administer medications as per facility protocol.
- Prepare and assist anesthesia providers with patients requiring blocks.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide resuscitation as needed.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures at all times.
- Prepare patients for discharge and provide essential education.
- Deliver quality customer service in alignment with the organization's objectives.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Adapt and thrive in an ever-changing environment.
- Support patient transitions throughout the peri-operative process.
- Maintain a team-oriented attendance record.
- Exhibit professional conduct and attire that aligns with ASC standards.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Supervisor RN.

Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
- Active Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA), to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- PALS certification may be required, to be completed within the first six months of employment.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in perioperative nursing (OR), PACU, ER, or ICU.
Compensation is influenced by local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes various incentives, stock purchase options, and a 401k contribution (eligibility may apply). The hourly pay range for this full-time role is $28.27 to $50.48. We comply with all applicable minimum wage laws.
