Temecula Valley Day Surgery is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center, licensed by the State of California, certified by Medicare, and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Our center is designed for patients having elective, one-day surgery with no hospital stay. Job Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse. This individual provides individualized, goal directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing, in accordance with center policies and procedures. Duties include but no limited to:

• Assessing patient and family needs to provide quality care.
• Evaluating patient's response and intervening appropriately for optimal outcomes.
• Demonstrating ability to communicate instructions clearly to patient and family.
• Adapting during rapidly changing pace and managing resources to maintain patient flow.
• Developing, discussing, and communicating a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient.
• Demonstrating the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures.
• Evaluating the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses to meet patient and family needs.
• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided.
• Maintaining current knowledge, certification, and licensure.
• Pursuing professional growth and development.

Qualifications

Experience/Training/Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in the field of nursing preferred. Minimum of two years Pre-Op/PACU nursing experience required. ASC experience preferred.

Certifications/Licenses: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California required. BLS and ACLS poss. PALS certifications required.

Other Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with State and local standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with company policies and procedures at all times. Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications. Must have experience in standard office equipment. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference and volume. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
