The Johns Hopkins Hospital - Weinberg Intensive Care Unit (Weinberg 3 A) is a 20-bed adult surgical intensive care unit. WICU has won the AACN Beacon Award and was recognized by the SCCM for the Family Centered Care Innovation Award. This unit is grounded in teamwork as well as Patient and Family Centered Care.
What You Will Do:

• Interview and observe patients to assess needs, and to assist in developing semi-complex patient care plans.
• Administer medications and assists physicians in administering treatments and diagnostic tests.
• Monitor intravenous therapeutic treatments.
• Make periodic patient rounds, takes vital signs, and evaluates patient care provided by LPN's, technicians, nursing assistants, etc.
• Maintain current, accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care.
• Respond to patient inquiries, complaints, and routine service requests.
• May explain and record discharge instructions to patients or their families in the absence of a higher-level nursing professional.
• Attend in-service training and continuing education programs.

Qualifications :

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• BSN/MSN strongly preferred.
• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Tuition reimbursement - BSN/MSN matriculation required within one-year of hire and completion of degree within five-years of hire.
• Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required. AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.
• The ideal candidate will possess at least six months of ICU experience as a licensed Registered Nurse and is proficient in Registered Nurse 1 competencies.

Salary Range: Minimum 38.49/hour - Maximum 59.66/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
