Rn Clinic (Psychiatry)

Shift: Full Time/Monday-Friday

Provide s mental health assessment, intervention, and consultation to individuals identified as having psychiatric disorders; plan s treatment modalities, coordinate s tre atment plans and follow clients through the treatment pr ocess .  The RN functions as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) according to the Illinois Register Department of Healthcare and Family Services 89 Ill. Adm. Code 140 , may provide supervision to Mental Health Professionals (MHP) , and may train students assig ned in the department .  The RN deliver s customer service and work s cooperatively with other departments .  The RN provide s crisis intervention, maintain s accurate clinical documentation, and demonstrate s Trinity’s principles and values when interacting with clients, families, visitors, physicians and coworkers.

• Assures that all clients receive clinically sound t riage/referral and ongoing care for behavioral health needs.  
• C ollect s information and communicates medication refill requests and client problems to the prescriber .
• Evaluate s the client’s treatment plan throu gh follow-up assessment and recommends adjustments based on clinical findings.
• Utilizes a holistic approach to determine teaching methods appropriate to the individual client .  
• Provides psycho-education to clients and families regarding their illness, medication s, and/or treatment plan to supplement information provided by health care professionals.  

Education:

• Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS
