The role you'll contribute:

Responsible for assisting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications. This position performs all required tasks necessary for the department's daily functions and handles a high volume of work with minimal direct supervision.

The value you'll bring to the team:

• Processes prescriptions by obtaining patient and insurance information, maintaining current patient data, and ensuring pharmacist verification before distribution.
• Prepares and dispenses medications accurately under the supervision of a pharmacist, including compounding and labeling prescriptions.
• Communicates with patients, physicians, and other healthcare practitioners regarding prescription status, transfers, and potential delays.
• Maintains inventory by coordinating receiving, stocking, checking for discrepancies, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Manages pharmaceutical expenses by reviewing costs, using correct codes, and utilizing patient assistance programs.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• High School Grad or Equivalent
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT)
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC)
• 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, or hospital setting.

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate degree
• Prior experience processing and filling prescriptions
