Our research aims to reveal the complex molecular logic responsible for vascularization and barrier integrity in the central nervous system.

A caregiver in this position works 8:30am5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform laboratory techniques and procedures required for experimental studies.
• Perform technical lab duties.
• Schedule and perform various analyses.
• Assist with establishing and scheduling various procedures and analyses.
• Prepare reagents, purify chemicals, and identify, separate and quantify various substances.
• Conduct testing and procedures utilizing laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Accumulate data from analyses.
• Prepare charts, graphs, statistical tables, publications, grant proposals and applications for research forms.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in a research or related laboratory environment OR an associate's degree in a laboratory science field and 1 year of work experience OR a bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Will only consider candidates with wet lab research experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• Ability to distinguish color
• Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment
• Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
