Pharmacy technicians in all time zones are reviewing prior authorizations for coverage determination for a pharmacy services department that is part of a large healthcare insurance company. Must either approve or deny and then send them to pharmacists for final review. Handling Medicare and all types of medications. Little, to no phone work and if they do it's mostly outbound. This job is a lot of reading over SOPs, criteria, health insurance plans to determine coverage. They will make the determination of approval or denial. Company JD Summary: Key duties involve tracking coverage determination requests, obtaining verbal authorizations, approving requests based on criteria, entering decisions into the PBM system, and notifying providers and members. Technicians will also respond to client inquiries, refer requests for specialty drugs, contact providers for additional information, and notify stakeholders of decision outcomes. Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers. May assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls, if needed.

Education/Experience: High School diploma. Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation. Basic computer skills.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
