Refrigeration Service Technician

Installation, repair, and scheduled maintenance on walk-in coolers, reach-in refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and other related products. Work with several different refrigeration and cooler brands (True, Krown Tonka, Kramer, XDX, Bohn, McCall, Heatcraft, Russell, Master Built, etc.). Troubleshooting and problem solving in the field for refrigeration, cooler, ice makers. Ability to repair and recover refrigeration systems. Brazing during repairs. Working in bars/restaurants, commercial buildings with refrigeration, beer distributors, gas stations. Troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures. Maintaining stock levels. Replacing worn seals, outer shells, and worn-out motors. Responsible for installing, inspecting, and troubleshooting components such as compressors, evaporators, and condensers. Travel throughout the state of Michigan required.

Experience with R-410A, R-22, R-454b refrigerants. A2L classified refrigerants such as R32, R-454B, and R-1234yf have a lower flammability than A2 and lower toxicity. A1 classified refrigerants such as HFC R-407C and HFC R-410A have no flame propagation and low toxicity. Required Tool List: Vacuum Pump, Leak Detector, 4-way Manifold gauges (with extra hose for recovery), "stubby" gauges for critical charge system, Pinch off tool, Schrader core removal tool, Refrigeration wrench, Torches, Scale.

Entry Level.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. This is a fully onsite position in Swartz Creek, MI.
