Refrigeration Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Service Technician to join our Maryland or Virginia team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining refrigeration systems to ensure their optimal performance.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems, including electrical, mechanical, and cooling system components.
• Perform necessary repairs on refrigeration systems, such as replacing faulty parts, fixing leaks, repairing wiring, and restoring proper functionality.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and extend the life of the equipment.
• Safely handle refrigerants, including recovery, recycling, and recharging systems according to industry standards and regulations.
• Perform inspections of refrigeration equipment to assess condition, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.
• Provide clear communication with customers regarding system issues, repairs, and maintenance needs. Offer explanations on the work performed and educate clients on how to maintain their systems.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and work completed.
• Ensure all repairs and services comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations, including safety standards.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of tools, equipment, and protective gear.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

• Proficiency in refrigeration, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with construction and field service work.
• Understanding of EPA regulations and ability to read blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 3+ years of commercial refrigeration service experience, including experience with remote systems and walk-in units.
• Experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems.

Work Environment:

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including commercial cold storage or Retail facilities. You may be exposed to cold environments and varying weather conditions. The role may require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet client needs or project deadlines.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Direct hire role and will be based around the Baltimore/Washington DC metro.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
