Summary

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of a front end loader to fill batch bins with material. Some shovel work under the bins may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate a front end loader to load material into the batch bin.
2. Responsible for efficient working condition of plant equipment. Performs maintenance to batch plant which includes greasing, sweeping, shoveling, performing equipment repairs, cleaning, and removing jam-ups.
3. Maintain time and material records.
4. Responsible for efficient working condition of plant equipment.
5. Must be able to climb man ladder.
6. Follow verbal (in person and over the phone) and written instruction.
7. Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively on radio/phone system
