Job Description Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality radiologic diagnoses under the supervision of the Department Manager, while ensuring top-notch patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Adhere to HIPPA regulations to maintain patient privacy
- Follow OSHA safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
- Gather essential clinical information, including patient complaints, health history, and vital signs
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments according to established guidelines
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and various medical procedures
- Perform wound care tasks such as irrigations, dressing changes, and applying splints as instructed by the Provider
- Conduct diagnostic tests, including eye exams and laboratory specimen processing
- Execute daily opening and closing procedures for the office and laboratory
- Maintain emergency equipment in a safe and ready-to-use condition
- Ensure exam rooms and laboratory areas are stocked and organized
- Sterilize non-disposable instruments and handle medical waste following proper protocols
- Provide discharge instructions as directed by the Provider
- Collaborate with the Provider and front office staff to enhance clinic workflow
- Engage in ongoing training to maintain high proficiency in all duties
- Hold current CPR certification
Radiographer Duties:
- Perform x-ray examinations as ordered by the Provider to assist in diagnosing medical conditions
- Follow specific instructions from the provider closely
- Communicate effectively with patients to ensure understanding and cooperation during radiographic tests
- Prepare and maintain radiographic equipment
- Assist patients in removing items that may interfere with imaging procedures
- Properly position patients to capture accurate diagnostic images
- Adjust equipment settings to achieve optimal image density, detail, and contrast
- Take precautions to minimize unnecessary radiation exposure
- Store and manage radiographic images following clinic guidelines
- Assist patients by transferring or copying x-ray images for their primary care providers
- Regularly clean and disinfect x-ray equipment
- Keep the x-ray suite organized and fully stocked
- Wear the appropriate RAD badge at all times
Position Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technologist program is essential
- Massachusetts state licensure in Radiography is mandatory
- AART certification is required
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Basic proficiency in computer skills
- Skill in maintaining accurate medical records
- Effective communication and patience with patients
- Ability to meet all essential duties related to diagnostics and treatment procedures
- Self-motivated to initiate and complete tasks without direct supervision
- Strong team player willing to assist colleagues as needed
- Commitment to confidentiality of patient information
- Capable of managing multiple tasks while attending to patient needs
