Quality Assurance Lab Technician

The Quality Assurance Lab Technician will inspect incoming ingredients and packaging material to ensure they conform to product specifications. You will submit ingredient samples from current and new suppliers to approved labs for authenticity and pesticide analysis. Additionally, you will audit both the blending operation and production for conformance to process and packaging specifications. The role includes maintaining QA record-keeping, filing systems, and housekeeping programs in QA areas, performing microbiological plating functions, and monitoring all aspects of production for compliance with HACCP, GMP's, SQF, and SOP's. You will also verify and calibrate laboratory and operational equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming ingredients and packaging materials for conformance to product specifications.
• Submit ingredient samples for authenticity and pesticide analysis.

• Audit production for conformance to process and package specifications.
• Maintain QA record-keeping, filing systems, and housekeeping programs.
• Perform microbiological plating functions.
• Monitor production for compliance to HACCP, GMP's, SQF, and SOP's.
• Verify and calibrate laboratory and operational equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
• Knowledge of HACCP and GMP's.
• Experience in food and beverage production.
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of good manufacturing processes.
• Preferred experience in food & beverage production.
• A degree is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This role is within a 24/7 manufacturing environment that produces juices for schools, hospitals, and retail chains. You will be working in a manufacturing quality laboratory with a heavy workload, typically 5-6 days a week with 12-hour shifts and mandatory overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DeLand, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
