Junior Pump Mechanic (Days)

Join our team as a Junior Pump Mechanic where you will embark on a journey to become a 1st class API Pump mechanic. This role involves servicing and repairing pumps and rotating equipment, with hands-on experience in cleaning and mechanical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overhaul and repair of pumps and rotating equipment.
• Support machinists in fabricating parts.
• Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Engage in general labor tasks, including sweeping and mopping, to maintain a clean work environment.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a pump mechanic.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools including tape measures, OD & ID micrometers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Aspirations to become a 1st class API Pump mechanic.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in mechanical assembly and repair.

Work Environment

Work in a medium-sized, air-conditioned shop bustling with parts and pumps. Our day shift operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Enjoy paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Expect to work 50 to 60 hours weekly with occasional Sundays at double time. Safety gear, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses, is required. The shop is set to expand to a larger facility by 2024 or 2025.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
