Overview

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including:

• Skilled nursing services
• Adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care
• Rehabilitation therapy
• Home infusion therapy
• Infusion treatment rooms
• Home medical equipment
• High-tech respiratory care

Specialty programs include adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic, and wound care.

BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois, serving more than 25 counties. It is the largest home care network in the region and one of the largest in the country.

The Alton Intermittent Home Care Department provides home visits to patients in Alton, Illinois, and surrounding counties, with 24-hour on-call nursing supervision. Our JCAHO-accredited, multi-disciplinary approach combines leading-edge technology with a strong belief in the recuperative advantages of receiving care at home.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose: Provides direct patient care activities to home care or home health patients according to physician orders in the home environment. Includes assessment, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, and instruction/supervision of physical therapy practice.

Responsibilities:

• Instructs and assists patients in performing physical activities and using assistive/supportive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, prostheses)
• Instructs patients and families in treatment procedures
• Re-evaluates patients and adapts treatment programs to achieve maximum benefit
• Confers with physicians and other practitioners to obtain additional information, suggest revisions to treatment plans, and integrate physical therapy with other aspects of care
• Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices; recommends modifications to Orthotist

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy (PT)
• Experience: No Experience
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience
• Licenses & Certifications:
• Valid Driver's License
• Physical Therapist License
