Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician

TeamHealth is hiring a full-time (5 days per week) inpatient rehab physician (internal medicine background) to do rounding in an inpatient rehab facility in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, area. Key Responsibilities

• Perform internal medicine (IM) care in an inpatient rehab setting
• Manage chronic disease, diagnose illnesses and medical conditions, and implement plan of care
• Order and interpret lab results
• Prescribe and monitor medications
• Consult with physicians and coordinate patient care with other healthcare practitioners
• Educate patients and their caregivers on coping skills to handle chronic and age-related conditions
• Build relationships with your patients, patients' family members, and facility staff to facilitate effective treatment delivery
• Promote healthy lifestyle changes

Requirements

• 1+ years internal medicine (IM) experience required
• Direct IRF care experience a plus, but not required
• Active and unrestricted Indiana license
• Active and unrestricted Indiana DEA with prescriptive authority
