nAECOM is seeking two Project Engineers for one of our offices in Sacramento, CA .
n_ JOB SUMMARY: _
nThis role plays a key role in advancing the California High-Speed Rail program by providing technical guidance on design and construction activities. This position supports project delivery through design review, field engineering, and coordination with contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
n_ JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: _

- Review and provide technical oversight of engineering submittals, construction drawings, and specifications for compliance with CAHSR standards and applicable codes n
- Support the resolution of design and construction issues, including field engineering changes, RFIs, and non-conformance reports n
- Coordinate across disciplines (civil, structural, geotechnical, systems, and environmental) to ensure integration of design and construction activities n
- Provide technical input during constructability reviews and value engineering assessments n
- Take part in the management of contractor teams to bid, propose and deploy for construction. Monitor construction progress and support the Engineering Manager in ensuring quality, cost, and schedule adherence. Be proactive in solving any field issue to alleviate contractor impacts. n
- Assist in the development and maintenance of engineering procedures, technical criteria, construction, and project documentation n
- Interface with contractors, consultants, local jurisdictions, and regulatory agencies as required for technical coordination n
- Support risk identification and mitigation activities related to engineering and construction. n

_ MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: _

- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education n
_ PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: _
n- n
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline n
- Experience with high-speed rail, commuter rail, or other complex rail transit projects n
- Experience working on federally and state-funded transportation projects n
- Familiarity with Caltrans, FRA, and CPUC standards and requirements n
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable n
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California, or the ability to take the exam as soon as practical. n
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible engineering experience on major transportation or infrastructure projects, with emphasis on design review and construction support n
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering standards, construction methods, and project delivery for large-scale transportation or rail projects n
- Strong technical writing and communication skills for coordination across multidisciplinary teams n
