Production Support Engineer- Credit

Insight Global is seeking a Production Support Engineer to join one of our largest financial clients in Chicago, IL supporting the Global Markets LOB. We are seeking a motivated candidate for a Markets Application Production Services (MAPS) role within the Global FICC Credit support organization. In this role the candidate will primarily support Credit Trading platforms covering cash/derivatives products, electronic trading, trade life cycle, risk and PnL management. They will be managing the trade capture and post-trade flow platform, oversee upstream and downstream connectivity's, resolve user queries, build/support automation monitoring tools for efficiency, and support front-office and middle-office applications. Candidates must have the willingness to deliver production support services, drive process automation, monitoring and tooling within SRE framework.
On a day-to-day basis they will perform the following:
- Responsible for the monitoring and alerting of critical trading system environments, performing application health checks to assure system availability and stability, user querying and production incident handling, triage, and hands-on troubleshooting of Python and Java based applications.
- Resolve any performance issues per criticality, capacity management and production release process management.
- Exercise strong Incident and Problem Management skills for timely resolution and communication as well as to drive continuous improvements.
- Primary contact for front office and middle office personnel to resolve issues with trader applications and any business-related queries in timely manner to avoid business impact.
- This individual will work in close collaboration with the Application Developers, peer Support teams, Global/offshore teams, and Infrastructure Support.
- Drive ongoing knowledge management and related documentation.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
- 7+ years of production support experience in financial institutions
- Experience with Linux/Unix based application platforms
- SQL experience - query a database - mix off from scratch and a run book
- Experience scripting with Shell and Python for automation and scripting tasks (Intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, being able to read code not write it, etc...)
- Enterprise Monitoring experience- ideally using ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, Splunk
- Experience with scripting: Python, Unix shell scripting
- Bachelors or Masters in Science/Technology
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses:
- Experience supporting Python based applications
- Business knowledge in Credit and/or Trading techniques
- Good knowledge of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Knowledge management
- Previous Bank of America experience
