PRN School Nurse Needed Waukesha, WI

Amergis is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Nurse (LPN or RN) to join a Waukesha area School. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support student health and wellness in a school setting, with a flexible schedule and a supportive environment.

As a Health Room Worker, you'll oversee the delivery of student care, promote physical and emotional well-being, respond to medical needs, and collaborate with families, staff, and healthcare providers. You'll work under the supervision of a district nurse and provide services aligned with Amergis' philosophy, standards, and physician orders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply the nursing process to assess and manage student health needs
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide direct care in the health room
• Support students with chronic conditions and emotional health concerns
• Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, and healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and district policies

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Nurse license (LPN or RN) in Wisconsin
• School Nurse Certification (as required by state or contract)
• 1+ year of experience in school nursing, public health, or pediatrics preferred
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)
• Completion of TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
• Valid Health Certificate (per contract/state regulation)
• Must be 18 years or older and meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Assignment Details:

• Work approximately 3 days/week on an as-needed basis
• Supervised by a district nurse
• Opportunity to stay on with the district after covering this Leave of Absence (LOA)
