Job Description

As an Unarmed Security Officer - Access Control in Santa Clara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more.

As a member of the Allied Universal team in a dynamic technology-focused location, you will play a key role in access control, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for employees and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, conducting routine patrols, and remaining visible throughout the assigned areas to help prevent unauthorized access. You will also provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and assisting individuals as needed. What You'll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering or exiting the location to help to deter unauthorized entry.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and identify potential concerns.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and client representatives to address security-related needs and concerns specific to a technology-focused environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A valid Guard Card or security-related license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
