The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow for Dr. Helena Reijonen's laboratory within the Department of Immunology and Theranostics at the Art Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute.

Dr. Reijonen's research focuses on characterizing autoimmune-mediated Type 1 Diabetes. The lab aims to identify autoreactive T lymphocytes in the blood of individuals with T1D, understand their activation and regulation, and discover novel signatures and pathways of autoimmunity. The lab also investigates extracellular vesicles as communication means between immune cells and pancreatic islets, with the goal of improving disease prediction, monitoring, and therapy evaluation.

As a successful candidate, you will:

1. Design and perform experiments, analyze data
2. Communicate regularly with team members
3. Present research findings at scientific meetings
4. Write and submit manuscripts for publication
5. Write and submit grant proposals

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

• Ph.D. or M.D. degree in biomedical sciences or related discipline
• Experience in tissue culture, cellular and molecular biology
• Experience with multi-parameter flow cytometry, cell imaging, and data analysis
• Knowledge of statistical methodologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Peer-reviewed publications
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and independent research skills
• Experience with Single Cell Multi-omics techniques and analysis programs is a plus
• Previous immunology research experience is advantageous
