This is a full-time, exempt level position. Job Summary: Plant Superintendent will help coordinate and oversee day to day activities and lead Performance Excellence at the East Plant. This position is responsible for the safe, successful and progressive day-to-day operational activities, maintain a safe, sanitary workplace in compliance with company policies, government regulation and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, FDA, USDA, FRA, HACCP, etc.).

Job Responsibilities:

• Respond to plant, process, personnel, product, and environmental emergencies.
• Ensure successful day-to-day operation of the Processing facility, in areas of safety, quality, and production.
• Work closely with the plant manager and production scheduling manager to carry out plant specific goals and objectives.
• Provide guidance and production expectations to department superintendents.
• Involvement with the management of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, food safety, sanitation, quality policies, and procedures.
• Assist in troubleshooting production problems, optimizing yields, and productivity, and controlling costs.
• Provide leadership for colleague development as well as establishing and achieving plant goals.
• Maintain a high degree of availability to a 24/7 operation.
• Leverage the Performance Excellence process to drive plant performance as a primary responsibility.

Job Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related discipline, is preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Eight (8) or more years of production and supervisory experience in a continuous manufacturing, GMP environment, Previous leadership within Performance Excellence as a PE leader, practitioner, or PE specialist is a plus. Demonstrated strong commitment and leadership in plant health and safety programs as well as quality and food safety programs. Demonstrated ability to manage a food processing facility, employing GMP and HACCP methodologies. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills. Interpersonal skills employed include handling conflict, motivating, instructing, and training personnel in a fair, honest, and direct way. Technical competence in mechanics, instrumentation, controls, calculations, and utility systems. Ability to achieve and track excellence using performance-driven metrics. General computer skills including experience with MSOffice. Ability to effectively manage time for optimal results. Able to utilize independent judgment to solve problems, have excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks, meet deadlines, and strive for continuous improvement and high expectations of direct reports.

Working Conditions: Dust Chemicals/Irritants The scope of the position may require exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed. Inside areas: Spring/Summer: Temperatures in some areas of the facility will be up to or exceed 100 degrees Fall/Winter: Temperatures in the facility may be at or below freezing. Outside areas: Spring/Summer: Outside temperature may be up to or exceed 100 degrees with potential for high humidity. May be exposed to inclement weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain and wind. Fall/Winter: Outside temperatures may reach freezing or below. May be exposed to inclement weather including, freezing rain, sleet, snow and wind. Some manufacturing processes within the facility are highly reliant on machinery and other processing equipment and, as a result, noise levels may reach or exceed 85 decibels and require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift.

ADM requires the successful completion of a background check. Relocation support is available for this position. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $92,800.00 - $172,800.00. The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan.
