Pipe Welder (Per Diem)

Job Title: Pipe Welder

Must be local to the Charleston area and willing to travel around South Carolina (Per Diem provided)

Job Description

As a Pipe Welder, you will be responsible for welding stainless steel and carbon steel piping using TIG (GTAW) and STICK (SMAW) processes. You will read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols to perform layout, fit-up, and welding of pipe systems to exact specifications. Conducting visual inspections and quality checks on welds will be a critical part of your role, along with collaborating with pipefitters, foremen, and project managers to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Weld stainless steel and carbon steel piping using TIG and STICK processes.

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols.

• Perform layout, fit-up, and welding of pipe systems to exact specifications.

• Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on welds.

• Work collaboratively with pipefitters, foremen, and project managers to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience working with stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems.

• Proficient in TIG and STICK welding techniques.

• Ability to pass weld tests.

• Strong understanding of pipe welding tools, equipment, and safety protocols.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Summerville, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
