The Pediatrician diagnosis and treats patients in his/her specialty area; collaborates and supervises nurse practitioners and physician s assistants; participates in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties, treats conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician s specialty, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated, participates in after-hours coverage to insure 24-hour availability of care for Center patients. Performs job duties in compliance with systems and job specific standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence-based standard of care.
• Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.
• Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.
• Provides supervision for clinical activities of medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures.
• Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.
• Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.
• Participates and attends provider meetings.
• Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.

Minimum Education Requirement:

• Doctorate Degree M.D. or D.O.
• Valid License to practice medicine in New York State
• Board Certified or Eligible

Minimum Related Work Experience: 2-4 years

Salary Range: $190,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually
