Newborn Hospitalist

We are seeking a full time newborn hospitalist to join our elite team at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. The practice details include using CPN and Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) EMR systems.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills, coordinating discharge planning with case management, recommending, participating in, and ensuring the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients, accepting patient referrals from other physicians, acting as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization, participating in academic programs, providing appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements, and participating in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty. Shift work includes a combination of day, night and weekend shifts to average 40 hrs/wk for full time. Procedures vary from week to week but circumcisions are performed regularly. Frequent use of CPAP in Level 2 nurseries. Easy collaboration with neonatologists at our Level 4 NICU. Potential for low acuity peds beds in the future.

St. Vincent Women's has an 85-bed Level IV Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that features 14 separate suites for multiple births. Services offered at St. Vincent Women's Hospital are a Maternal Fetal Medicine and Genetics Center with prenatal diagnostic testing, genetic counseling and high risk pregnancy management. The High Risk unit offers 26 private rooms in a home-like environment for those patients who expect an extended hospital stay. The Family Care Unit offers 48 private patient rooms, a nursery, lactation consultants and a newborn portrait studio. St Vincent Women's hospital also offers maternal/fetal transport services covering all St Vincent Health ministries and any other Indiana hospital requesting service.

Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St. Vincent is part of Indiana's largest not-for-profit health system with 22 ministries and over 3000 physicians. Features include an attached tertiary care, pediatric hospital with 40 private inpatient beds and 8 short stay beds, staffed in-house 24/7 by our Pediatric Hospitalist group. A 23-bed PICU staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Intensivists. A 17-bed Pediatric Emergency department staffed 24/7 by Pediatric Emergency physicians. Indiana's largest Level IV NICU with 109 beds staffed 24/7 by Neonatologists. St. Vincent Children's Services: recognized nationally for faster access to pediatric specialists and best-in-care outcomes. Through the Peyton Manning Children's Health system at St. Vincent your family will get faster access to more than 100 highly experienced pediatric specialists. A majority of these physicians are double board certified in pediatrics and in one of 40 different pediatric specialties and multidisciplinary programs.

Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
