Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

As a successful candidate, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, displaying the ability to multi-task independently as well as collaboratively. This full-time salaried position is structured around three 12-hour shifts, allowing for every other weekend off – enjoy a 4-day weekend!

This position is based onsite at one of our Capital Region locations, with some reimbursable travel required between sites.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and comprehensive physical examinations.
• Collect essential clinical data, including vitals, specimens, and point-of-care testing.
• Perform occupational medicine assessments.
• Ensure accurate patient coding and documentation.
• Maintain detailed and precise patient medical reports.
• Take on a leadership role for clinical staff on-site.
• Mentor students and support newer clinical staff in their development.

Requirements:

• Registered Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with a valid New York license and registration.
• Current DEA certification.

Education Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
• NCCPA Registration.
• Relevant state licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.

Experience:

• Preferred 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care setting; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong interpersonal skills and critical judgment are essential.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies.
• Knowledge of the scientific process and national standards of care for managing patient care.
• Proficient in mastering computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
• Capable of projecting a professional image and gaining the trust of others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to engaging positively with the public.
• Strong relationship-building skills and adherence to HIPAA compliance at all times.
