Pharmacy Trainee

Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Trainee, you will play an essential role in our pharmacy team. Your skills and dedication will contribute to creating a patient-centric environment at Giant Eagle. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in an ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree program
• Certification or Licensing Required: Active in-state Pharmacy Intern License
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds

Job Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels by submitting online orders and assisting the manager with physical inventories.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with company standards and regulations.
• File written prescriptions daily to ensure efficient operations.
• Support Team Members in tasks to promote departmental efficiency.
• Review service and business metrics with the team to enhance outcomes.
• Perform the duties of a Pharmacy Technician as required.
• Greet and assist patients warmly and promptly at all pharmacy entry points.
• Exemplify excellent patient care by addressing and anticipating all patient needs, including assisting with order processing both in-person and by phone.
• Process transactions accurately using the cash register in line with established procedures.
• Support the safe and efficient dispensing of medications and medical equipment by adhering to quality assurance policies.
• Comply with all Giant Eagle and Pharmacy policies, including HIPAA and regulations for pseudoephedrine.
• Enter and manage patient personal data and insurance information with accuracy.
• Document all prescription information thoroughly and timely.
• Coordinate with pharmacists on drug utilization reviews and resolve third-party billing issues.
• Assist in processing medical expense reports.
• Contribute to the execution of all company initiatives and programs.
