Pharmacy Technician

The pharmacy technician position is located at an Outpatient/Specialty Pharmacy near a Children's Hospital. This role serves the pediatric demographic within the hospital and supports local pediatric clinics. The ideal candidate will be reliable and eager to develop their skills and learn.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records by recording and filing the prescriptions and orders of physicians.
• Sort, stock, and label medications while monitoring inventory.
• Respond to the requests of patients and healthcare providers, answer their questions, and refer various inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Comply with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is accurate and complete.

Essential Skills

• Experience in pharmacy, preferably at least one year in a retail setting.
• Familiarity with non-sterile compounding and prior authorizations.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Proficiency in prescription filling, data entry, and retail pharmacy operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech License.
• Experience with oral solutions.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a team of about five pharmacy technicians per shift. The outpatient pharmacy offers shifts with variable start times at 7:45 AM, 9 AM, or 10:45 AM, each lasting 8 hours. Technicians are required to work only 1 to 2 weekend days a month. This role provides an opportunity to work within a hospital setting with potential for full-time employment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
