The posted compensation range of $26.12 - $39.46/hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Performs a variety of tasks in support of the daily workflow of the pharmacy to include the appropriate distribution of medications in compliance with state and federal laws and in accordance with CSH policies and procedures. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, technicians are accountable for:
- Preparing and dispensing prescribed medications for patients
- Performing compounding of intravenous medications
- Assisting in managing inventory
- Performing charging and crediting functions for medications associated with drug distribution processes
- Performing routine clerical/administrative tasks
Incumbents are also accountable for maintaining a clean and safe environment; using appropriate aseptic technique; handling controlled substances appropriately; completing all educational modules; attending regular staff meetings; keeping abreast of departmental changes/current CSH policy and procedures and The Joint Commission requirements.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares, distributes and delivers medications in accordance with CSH policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
- Maintains proper medication and supply stock levels
- Operates and maintains automated medication delivery systems and devices.
- Participates in department quality assurance programs and maintains appropriate quality assurance documentation.
- Trained and certified in IV admixture preparation including all regulatory and compliance requirements with required training and documentation. This may include preparation and handling of hazardous / chemotherapy medication if applicable.
- Performs related duties as required.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 6 months compounding of IV medication
Required Licensure and Certifications:
Registered Pharmacy Tech with the Washington State Department of Health
