As a pharmacist within a hospital system pharmacy managed by Cardinal Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient medication management. You will verify and adjust physician orders using the pharmacy information system, dispense medications according to established protocols, and provide patient education. This role also includes supervising pharmacy technicians and overseeing compliance with accreditation standards, narcotics control, and inventory management.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and verifying physician orders using pharmacy systems, adjusting medication orders per protocol and clinical guidelines, dispensing medications accurately and safely, educating patients on medication usage and potential side effects, supervising pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements, and managing inventory and controlled substances.

Required skills include pharmacy operations and pharmaceutical knowledge, healthcare systems and EMR proficiency, pharmacy management and compliance oversight. Preferred qualifications include an active and unrestricted pharmacist license in California, prior experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting, IV preparation experience, flexibility to work various shifts and be on-call as needed, strong communication and customer service skills, manual dexterity for handling small objects and medication preparation, and proficiency with pharmacy information systems and technology.

Pay and benefits for this position range from $65.00 to $75.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
