Structural Welder

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder to perform SMAW structural welding in vertical and overhead positions on Iron/Red Iron. The role involves welding bar joints, beams, columns, and guard rails as part of a remodel and expansion project. You will be responsible for all structural welding, steel erecting, fitting, and precast activities for the renovation at a large-scale commercial building.

Responsibilities

• Perform SMAW structural welding in vertical and overhead positions.
• Weld bar joints, beams, columns, and guard rails.
• Complete remodel and expansion work on commercial structures.
• Conduct structural welding, steel erecting, fitting, and precast activities.
• Operate forklifts and boom lifts safely and effectively.
• Communicate effectively with crane operators using hand signals.

Essential Skills

• Extensive knowledge and experience in large-scale commercial structural steel building.
• Ability to operate forklifts and boom lifts.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Understanding of crane signals.
• Experience with SMAW 3G and 4G welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Over 2 years of experience in a large-scale commercial steel building or iron working setting.
• Experience in iron work and structural welding is preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with concrete form, rebar, fabrication, and construction.

Work Environment

The work environment is highly driven, with the possibility of working up to 70 hours a week on location. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, work pants, a work shirt, a hard hat, and safety glasses.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Rapid City, South Dakota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
