All Summer Intern Development Program participants will complete a 10-week assignment within either a People Business Partner team or a Center of Expertise. The program is designed to provide interns with meaningful industry and functional experience, the opportunity to work on impactful projects, and exposure to BMS's culture and operations. Interns will also have ample opportunities to network across the company and develop a strong understanding of what it means to be a People Organization professional at BMS.
Program Overview
Our Summer Intern Development Program offers a comprehensive introduction to Bristol Myers Squibb and the People Organization. Highlights of the program include:
- Orientation session featuring an overview of our company structure, products, and brands
- Introduction to Human Resources and its impact across the organization
- Opportunities to engage with senior HR and business leaders
- Senior Leadership Speaker Series with insights from top executives
- Developmental feedback and personalized coaching
- Teambuilding, networking, and social events to connect with peers and professionals
Participants in the Summer Intern Development Program will be considered for full-time placement in our People Leadership Development Program. This full-time program consists of three rotations across the BMS People Organization operating model, each lasting approximately 912 months, providing a broad foundation for future HR leadership roles.
Requirements:
- Expected to receive a Master's degree with a Human Resources or related concentration as part of the graduating Class of 2027
- Excellent strategic, analytical, conceptual, creative, and communication abilities
- Strong intellectual and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new and complex business concepts
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others and work effectively in a matrix organization
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and teamwork
- All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Please note that immigration or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

On-site Protocol
BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based, and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles, the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients, or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
