Description :
Performs pediatric/congenital transthoracic echocardiograms. Performs fetal echocardiograms. Transesophageal echocardiograms. Performs complete Doppler studies, complete color Doppler flow, and spectral Doppler analysis data. Performs and supervises cardiac echo sonograms on pediatrics outpatients.
Responsibilities
Job Requirement:
Performs reliable 2D/Doppler Echocardiograms with M-mode on pediatric patients, performing accurate measurements and calculations in accordance with American Society of Echocardiography guidelines.
Obtain, measure, and interpret spectral and color flow Doppler signals and apply this information as it relates to the cardiovascular function.
Demonstrates the ability to derive physiologic and hemodynamic data from Doppler signals and apply information as it relates to the cardiovascular function.
Uses spectral and color flow Doppler data acquired during the study to influence the course of the echocardiogram. Studies are performed with minimal clinical supervision in proportion to experience level.
Echocardiographic images suitable for interpretation are obtained. Patients are triaged and exam format is based on patient's age, clinical results, and background of disease.
Provides guidance to physician during procedures to promote optimal patient care and obtain recordable data.
Demonstrates ability to function within the sterile and radiographic environments encountered.
Communicates findings well to Attending/ Fellow Cardiologist. Echocardiographic findings suggestive of patient management alterations are reported promptly to the Attending/ Fellow based on urgency.
Demonstrates the ability to ascertain urgency of patients based on their clinical results and disease background.
Maintains a level of efficiency that facilitates coverage of currently assigned service. Performs studies in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Qualification :
Experience Requirements:
3 years Echocardiography - Preferred
Up to 1-year Experience performing cardiac ultrasound (Experience can be derived from documented externship or previous work history) - Required
Education :
Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent - Required
Certifications/Licensure
Candidates should be Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers (RDCS).
