Job Summary:
The Patient Transporter is responsible for safely and courteously escorting hospital and ambulatory patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or hydraulic stretcher to their destinations. This position requires strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and customer service while ensuring timely patient transport within the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Escort patients safely and efficiently to their appointments or destinations within the hospital or ambulatory center.
Complete the Daily Disinfection & Tracking Log for each transported patient, recording details such as date, start time, equipment tag number, disinfectant used, patient MRN, destination, and completion time.
Sanitize wheelchairs before each patient transport using the â€œHigh-Touchâ€ Disinfection/Inspection Protocol.
Follow the Equipment Checklist to assist patients safely on and off wheelchairs.
Provide courteous, professional, and compassionate service to all patients and caregivers.
Navigate independently throughout the facility and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Push and maneuver patients weighing 200 pounds or more using proper body mechanics and safety protocols.

Ability to follow instructions and operate safely in a hospital environment.
Physical capability to push and control 200+ pounds via wheelchair.
Dependable, professional, and customer serviceâ€“oriented demeanor.

Education:
High School Diploma (required).

Required Experience:

Minimum 1 year of patient care and/or heavy customer service experience.
Ability to push at least 200 lbs.

Preferred Skills:
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Prior hospital or healthcare transport experience.
