Patient Services Specialist

Providence is calling for Patient Services Specialist in Orange, CA - Full Time, Evening Shift

Under the supervision of the PAS supervisor/manager, the Patient Access Representative is responsible for assisting patients during on-site registration and arrival for scheduled and unscheduled visits, as well as completing financial clearance functions.

This role involves registering unscheduled visits by collecting demographic and insurance information, and patient liability at the time of service. The representative also handles financial clearance for scheduled accounts. They greet and serve patients professionally and respectfully to promote positive experiences, adhering to regulatory and compliance standards with accurate and timely documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
• Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association, upon hire
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), upon hire
• Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS), upon hire
• 3 years experience in Patient Access or Business Office setting, with experience in insurance eligibility systems
• 3 years utilization of medical terminology in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of medical billing codes
• 1 year experience with Epic Applications
