About the Position

This full-time position is focused on training and onboarding new hires. Candidates must have phlebotomy experience.

Job Summary

As a Pathology Technician Instructor, your role will include:

• Providing technical assistance in laboratory settings.
• Performing a variety of laboratory duties to assist technologists, technicians, pathologists' assistants, and pathologists.
• Maintaining equipment, cleaning work areas, and stocking supplies.
• Assisting with reference lab tasks such as packaging, mailing, tracking, and filing reports.
• Training and onboarding new staff members.
• Assisting in obtaining biological samples and preparing tissues for examination.
• Performing complex histological procedures including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining tissue slides for diagnosis.
• Collecting, preparing, and processing specimens from within the Clinical Laboratory.
• Ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional environment.
• May perform waived tests and phlebotomy as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field with at least 30 combined semester hours of biological science and chemistry.
• One year of previous laboratory experience preferred.
