Parts Cleaner

We are seeking a dedicated Parts Cleaner/Sandblaster to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks including steaming, sandblasting, and some painting. It is physically demanding and is known as the dirtiest part of the shop. The successful candidate will begin work in the disassembly shop and have the opportunity to be cross-trained in the assembly department, offering room for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial cleaning, including steaming and sandblasting.
• Engage in general labor tasks such as grinding and facilities maintenance.
• Take apart pumps and prepare parts for assembly.
• Adhere to safety protocols and complete tasks as instructed by the Manager or Lead.

Essential Skills

• Experience in sandblasting and parts cleaning.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and team player mentality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Janitorial experience is beneficial.
• Reliable and consistent transportation to work.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions efficiently.

Work Environment

You will work in climate-controlled areas within an industrial machine shop. Openings are available on the 1st shift from 6AM to 4PM and the 2nd shift from 2PM to midnight, Monday through Friday. The work environment is demanding, but offers a chance to learn and grow in a supportive setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
