Job Summary

The Retail Sales Representative at PetSmart is responsible for providing top-notch service to pet parents and their pets, ensuring positive experiences while supporting our company’s mission, values, and strategies. This role also includes maintaining store cleanliness and adhering to pet safety standards and the direct care of pets within our store.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with pet parents, providing assistance both in-person and online.
• Welcome customers, answer inquiries, and assist them throughout their shopping experience.
• Prepare online orders for in-store pickup and ensure a smooth collection process.
• Care for store-owned pets, including feeding, cleaning habitats, and monitoring health.
• Ensure high cleanliness standards across the store.
• Assist with pricing changes and promotional displays.
• Organize and stock new products according to sales floor plans.
• Encourage and sell merchandise, services, and live pets.
• Administer medication to store pets as per veterinarian instructions.
• Promote special events like adoption weekends and charity activities.
• Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
• Respond promptly to sick or injured animals in-store and assist with their care.
• Work in various areas of the store as needed; other tasks may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stay calm and composed under pressure.

Essential Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands for various tasks.
• Frequent lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds, with occasional team lifting of over 100 pounds.
• Exposure to loud noises, live animals, and a wet work environment.
