Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will deliver professional nursing care to residents of various ages in long-term care settings, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role requires a thorough understanding of nursing principles as they apply to resident care and the ability to address the physical and psychosocial needs of our residents as outlined in their care plans.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the health, comfort, and safety of residents
• Administering medications or treatments as prescribed
• Contributing to resident assessments and documentation of interactions and outcomes
• Implementing preventative and treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
• Maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and the healthcare team
• Performing other related duties as assigned

This part-time role primarily involves working night shifts every Friday.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required; an Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, applicants must have either graduated from a Board-approved AASPN program with IV therapy as part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Candidates must have completed a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or possess at least 400 hours of experience as an LPN in a different facility.
• Must hold an unencumbered LPN license and maintain required competencies and certifications.
• Completion of annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training is mandatory.
